Make Your Own Mini Volcano!

By Linda | February 13, 2008

This is another great rainy day activity.

Ingredients:

Directions:

1. Combine baking soda, detergent, water and food coloring in a jar
2. Place jar on a tray or cookie sheet
3. Pour the vinegar into the jar and watch the “eruption”.

What causes this?
A chemical reaction between the baking soda and vinegar releases gas which forms the foamy bubbles which overflows from the container.
