A Bad Day at the Lab

A Bad Day at the Lab
 A poem by Science Junkies

Today will live in infamy!
I messed up in the lab you see
I unlocked just one monkey cage
Then had to run and check a gauge
When I returned I was quite shocked
Ten monkey cages were unlocked!

Two monkeys swung from ceiling fans
High-fiving with their feet and hands
Three more had [...]

I was an Inventor

I Was an Inventor
A Poem by Science Junkies

I was an inventor - A genius by trade
Ten thousand amazing devices I’ve made

My Scrub-Vac-O-Mopper replaces the broom,
The mop and the bucket, the Hoover Vacuum

To finish your schoolwork at maximum speed,
The Homework-A-Nator’s the gadget you need!

Who’d offer to cook their own bowl of spaghetti,
When a Noodle-O-Matic stands poised [...]

My Kitty ate my Gyroscope

My Kitty ate my Gyroscope
A Poem by Science Junkies

I’m just about to give up hope
My kitty ate my gyroscope!
Like a dervish he does spin
across the room and back again

Whirling, twirling like a top
I don’t think he will ever stop!
Gimbal, axis, rotor, string
Not a very tasty thing

Just what possessed my crazy cat
to swallow such a thing [...]

Rhyme and Reason

Tuesday, March 4th, 2008

Ever since reading “I Cloned Myself on Friday Night“, I haven’t been able to stop rhyming words (especially in the shower).  I think I’m on a poetry binge, heaven help us all!  I’ve always loved limericks so here you go…..

A Limerick by Science Junkies

Albert Einstein had quite a proclivity
towards pondering on relativity
his theorems they say
still hold water today
proving his was [...]

Don’t fall for it

Saturday, March 1st, 2008

After reading so many clever science poems I felt inspired to write one of my own.  Don’t judge it too harshly, It’s my first attempt!

What’s Gravity?
A Poem by Science Junkies

What’s gravity? I’d like to know
A force we cannot see
Gravity affects most things
from A right through to Z

Sir Isaac Newton made a find
when an apple it is said,
fell from a tree [...]

Another great poem; this one about cloning….And of course, some facts!

I Cloned Myself on Friday Night

A Poem by Kenn Nesbitt
I cloned myself on Friday night.
By Saturday at three
my clone had made another clone.
They both looked just like me.
They walked like me and talked like me.
They acted like me too.
They wore my clothes and used [...]

Do you find me attractive?

Saturday, February 23rd, 2008

Here’s a really clever poem about magnetism followed by some interesting facts:

I’VE TURNED MAGNETIC

A Poem by Gregory K.
I wish I could’ve turned athletic,
But just my luck… I’ve turned magnetic.
Paper clips fly up to greet me.
Nails, it seems, can’t wait to meet me.
I’m sticking to the baby’s stroller.
Look at me, I’m so bi-polar.
I make the TV [...]

The Sun, A Poem, and Some Facts

This illustration accurately depicts the relational sizes of the Sun and planets of our solar system
a PIZZA the size of the SUN
A Poem by Jack Prelutsky
I’m making a pizza the size of the sun,
a pizza that’s sure to weigh more than a ton,
a pizza too massive to pick up and toss,
a pizza resplendent with oceans [...]
